Get your head in the game

This post was written by students Brendan and Sophie.

Today was a big day for independent projects. I, Sophie, completed my independent project with Jack and Samantha. We hosted a basketball and soccer camp for the kids in the village, and also started a game of monkey in the middle. I, Brendan, partook in the game of “mono en el medio,” and had a great time playing with the locals, even though I was monkey a lot. The camp went smoothly, with the local kids quickly picking up basketball and showing off their skills in a game. To wrap up the camp, we played a game of soccer and all participants had a good time.

Last night, our meeting took place around a campfire. We are opening up more to each other and are able to have deep conversations. We all enjoyed our time together, talking around the fire and gazing at the stars. Overall, it was great evening and we are looking forward to more honest conversations in the following weeks.

A poem by us:

We found a bakery with really good bread

After that we’ve been really well-fed

Bread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Honestly, we’ve never felt thinner

Eric might be sad and gluten-free

But, oh well, more bread for me!

Stay tuned!
