Cookin’ Cuy

This post features student writing.

We began our day at the daycare, where we completed the painting project that we started last week. We painted an alpaca, fruit, and more!

Once we completed the painting, many of us worked on our independent projects. We made a lot of progress! With the guidance of locals, Max killed and prepared “cuy,” otherwise known as guinea pig, a local delicacy. Some of us ate the cuy, too! Others continued learning Quechua, the native language, as well as knitting scarves and making bracelets. We’re all looking forward to another day of service tomorrow!
